Pig Pal does not collect your data. There is no Pig Pal account, no Pig Pal server, and no analytics or advertising code in the app. Everything your family enters stays on your devices and, if you switch on sync, in your own iCloud.
What the app stores
Pig Pal keeps the things you type into it: your children's names, the color or photo you pick for each of them, chores, goals, allowance settings, a parent PIN, and the history of money earned and spent. This is stored on the device, in the app's own storage.
iCloud sync
Sync is off until you turn it on. When it is on, that same information is stored in your iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so your family's devices stay in step. It goes into your private iCloud database and, when you invite someone, into a shared area that only the people you invited can reach.
We have no access to it. The developer of Pig Pal cannot read, export or delete what is in your iCloud. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Photos
If you add a photo for a child, it is stored in the app's own storage on that device. If sync is on, it is copied to your iCloud so your other devices can show it. Pig Pal asks the system for access to your photo library only at the moment you choose a picture, and only reads the one you pick.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple's App Store. Pig Pal never sees your payment details. We receive the same anonymous sales and subscription reports Apple gives every developer, which contain no information identifying you.
Children
Pig Pal is a tool for a family to use together, and the information in it is entered by a parent or by a child on the family's own device. Because none of it is transmitted to us, no personal information about a child is collected, used or disclosed by Pig Pal at any point.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything it stored on that device. To remove the synced copy, turn off sync in Family ▸ Settings, or delete Pig Pal's data from iCloud in the Settings app under your name ▸ iCloud ▸ Manage Account Storage.
Changes
If Pig Pal ever starts collecting anything, this page will say so before the change ships, and the date at the top will change.
